The Beatles Ashram
The Beatles travelled to the Indian town of rishikesh to attend a session of Yoga and Meditation in february 1968 at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Bharat Mandir
Bharat Mandir is a very old temple of lord Bharat, the younger brother of Ram. Once in a year, on Basant Panchami, there is a big fair being held. The temple area is surrounded by the old market of Rishikesh city area.
Vashishta Gufa
Vashishta Gufa is a famous for meditation. Located at the bank of River Ganga, this gufa is situated at a distance of 16 km from Rishikesh. It takes about an hour’s drive on the Rishikesh Badrinath Highway to reach Vashishta Gufa.
Neer Gaddu Waterfall
At a distance of 5 km from Lakshman Jhula, Neer Gaddu or Neer Garh Waterfall is a natural water fall situated on Rishikesh – Badrinath Highway in Uttarakhand. Neer Gaddu Waterfall is a famous waterfall for small trek.
Tera Manzil Temple
Amazing Ganga views from this temple. It is very near to laxman jhoola. The temple holds smaller temples of God and Goddesses. Many shops have been opened which sell religious stuff.
Parmath Niketan Ashram
Parmarth Niketan is one of the most famous ashrams which is situated on the banks of River Ganges in Rishikesh. It is the venue for International Yoga Festival held every year in Rishikesh in the month of February.
Gita Bhavan
Geeta Bhavan is located at the banks of holy River Ganga in Swargashram, Rishikesh. The institute offers free food, stay and education to the pilgrims. People living within the bhawan participates in daily prayers and sadhana with mediation and other activities.
Rishikund
Rishikund means the ‘Pond of the Sage’ and is one of the most important places to visit in Rishikesh. Located within a close to the Triveni Ghat. A pious sage named Kubz was blessed by the Goddess Yamuna who promised to stay in Rishikesh forever.
