Bollywood actor Sridevi passed away at age of 54 due to Cardiac attack.
It is, in fact, a ‘Dark day’ for the Bollywood Hindi film industry as Legendary Bollywood actor Sridevi passed away suddenly in Dubai at the age of 54 after a massive Cardiac arrest (Heart Attack). “Yes, it is true that Sridevi passed away. I just landed here, I was in Dubai. It happened roughly around 11:00-11:30. I don’t know more points of interests yet,” Sanjay confirmed the news to media.
Sridevi was attending her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi, when she suffered a fatal heart attack died. Sridevi is made due by Boney Kapoor and two daughters- Janvi and Khushi. Her elder daughter Jahnvi was not attending Family wedding since she was shooting for Karan Johar’s debut film Dhadak in Mumbai.Sridevi was born Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in Tamil Nadu’s Sivakasi in 1963 and appeared as a child artiste in several films including Poompatta, Bhakta Kumbara, and Julie. Sridevi has featured in multilingual films including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada after Hindi. She made her debut in Bollywood with Solva Sawan in 1978 and is the star of films Sadma, Himmatwala, Ghar Sansar, Suhaagan, and Judaai. Sridevi made a comeback with 2012’s English Vinglish and subsequently, Mom, in 2017. She went on to become one of the biggest female stars in India.
The Indian government awarded her the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour in 2013.
She was making films as late as last year and appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada language productions.
Sridevi’s credits incorporate some of the most momentous films of the ’80s and ’90s, including “Mawaali” (1983), “Tohfa” (1984), “Mr. India” (1987), “Chandni” (1989), “Lamhe” (1991) and “Gumrah” (1993).
After working in Judaai (1997), co-starring her brother-in-law Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar. Sridevi took a break from 15-year from movies just to have returned to winning heart in her second innings with English-Vinglish in 2012. She was most recently seen in 2017 film MOM.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his condolences. “Saddened by the untimely end of noted actor Sridevi. She was the first female superstar of Bollywood Hindi film industry, whose long profession included assorted roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admirers in this hour of pain. May her soul rest in peace,” he said.
President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted: “Shocked to hear of the passing of movie star Sridevi. She has left millions of fans heartbroken. Her performances in films, for example, Moondram Pirai, Lamhe, and English Vinglish remain a motivation for other actors. My condolences to her family and close associates.”
Minutes after the news of her demise broke; numerous Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Sushmita Sen, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh took to Twitter to pay their condolences.
