- If you are visiting the Netherlands and do not want to carry paper money with you, you must carry Maestro card as stores in the Netherlands accept only Maestro card. But it always advisable to carry little cash with you as some of the small stores will not be able to accept cards.
- Stores close early so the best time to go around In the city is 10 am to 6 pm.
- You can easily get free tap water but you have to be specific like a pitcher of tap water ( if you are in a group ) otherwise you will get water in a small water bottle.
- Toilets are not free except if you are a Man. Yes, urinals are free for men and not for Women. The toilets are usually between .50 cent and one Euro.
- You need to tap in/out of public transport, trains. You have to pay as per the distance covered by you.
- The Dutch Tulip season is only for 6-8 weeks
- Carry Hand Sanitizers and Tissues as people don’t run water over their hands. Most of the public bathrooms have cold taps.
- As for weather, there is always rain and clouds hovering over. Weather Apps are useless.
- Do not walk in Bike Lane, look for the white stripes lines, which can be used to cross the street.
- English and German are full-fledged languages use there but still, it is advisable to carry a Dutch Dictionary.
